Yesterday I received a phone call from a media house in Kenya, Nation, and the caller identified himself as a journalist who was curious to know my opinion about the current debate allegedly stirred by the education minister's comment: School girls should be allowed to wear mini-skirts.

Skirting around the dress code for high school girls in Kenya

It is not a crime to wear mini skirts, ladies love to wear mini-skirts. We are from a reserved society where covering our bodies is deemed decent. It seems right to have teens wear medium length skirts to schools like we have all done over the years. Shouldn't we be discussing curriculum instead? Skirt issues... Seriously! Remember being a teenager?
