THIRTY DEE IN MIAMI

Ready to board our Miami Bound Flight!

Hey lovely readers! So I know you’re all keen to follow on the new job I got and stuff but let’s step back for a minute. I had to transition from my old job to the new one and my mind was set on this cruise of a lifetime… With my childhood best friend. The true meaning of #LivingMyBestLife I was leaving behind a life of paper chasing, bottom-line mission of making money towards a meaningful and fulfilling life mission of creating an impact and being the change I wish to see in society.

I had been saving up for this vacation for more than 8 months now. I was done paying my graduate school fees, I was determined to travel to Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Miami, Key West and wait for it… LAS VEGAS baby!!!

Maryam and the 2 other ladies #GirlsTrip

My pal Maryam needs to be a travel agent, she planned for a wicked trip and good Lord was it amazing! The flight from Nairobi was one of the longest commutes ever… 19 hours to be precise, from Nairobi (Kenya) to London (United Kingdom) then to Miami (United States). We were four (4) Kenyan ladies set to have an amazing girls trip. We checked in to the Hamptons Inn & Suites Miami, Hilton Hotel, and quickly got ready to hit the night scene.

About to head out!

We joined a club service called World Crawl Miami in Ocean Drive and headed out to the first bar – First o Ice. Ha ha ha… Let’s just say we got colored necklaces and a name that I picked out of a bowl, mine read “sugar tits” PS: I would have never written this out in my twenties. Hey 30’s DNS!

Hey Miss Sugar

The second spot we were taken to was Senor frogs, a nice and chill pub where I had to have some chicken wings and a cocktail… The holiday spirit had kicked in full swing! But the jetlag had also quickly crept in…
Mind over matter!

Suddenly my feet were heavy, I was tired walking around in heels… And now I had to switch to my “mind over matter” mantra where the will to experience the Miami nightlife was greater than the physical fatigue.

Maryam and I #GirlsTrip

The last place we went to was a club called Future Memories. It was amazing but that’s about it. One cocktail and we got into an Uber and headed back to our hotel…

Future Memories

Future memories indeed.

Sincerely,

Nekoye
