ZANZIBAR SPICE TOUR

Trying to buy some tea masala and ginger with my tourguide.

Just to share some of the things I learnt; 

1. The lemon grass is a natural mosquito repellant.

2. The Cinammon tree is considered the queen of the spice because every single part of it has a value and can be used for various purposes. (From the leaves, to the bark, to the roots...)

3. That vanilla is the most high maintenance plant...

4. Ilanglang plant is the one used to produce Channel no. 5

5. Nutmeg or 'kuku manga' in Swahili is a natural female viagra.

6. The 'fenesi' fruit is called Jack fruit in English...

7. The cloves if the king of the spice... because it is Tanzania's greatest Agricultural export *

At the market

I couldn't help but smile at the thought of a woman being 'prepared' for her wedding night...
